Our client for this office fit-out project was H&MV Engineering. H&MV, a prominent organization in the high voltage industry, entrusted Stakelum to fully furnish their newly acquired office space in Limerick.
H&MV has recently experienced significant growth and has emerged as one of the world's leading companies in high-voltage engineering. In fact, they recently made a remarkable announcement of creating over 700 new job opportunities.
Over the course of several years, Stakelum has developed a strong and thriving relationship with H&MV. This close partnership has allowed us to understand their needs and preferences, enabling us to deliver tailored solutions. Thus, when presented with the opportunity to create a new workspace & tailored office fit-out for H&MV, we were deeply honoured. With H&MV's rapid expansion and their focus on cultivating relationships, team spirit, and learning, it was crucial for us to design an office space that would align with their vision.
The Brief
Stakelum collaborated closely with H&MV to ensure that the office fit-out would not only meet their functional requirements but also reflect their values and aspirations. By incorporating elements that promote collaboration, communication, and knowledge-sharing, we aimed to create an environment that encourages the growth and development of their talented workforce.
Through careful selection of furniture, layout planning, and attention to detail, we strived to establish a workspace that fosters positive relationships among employees, fosters a strong team spirit, and provides ample opportunities for continuous learning.
Stakelums initiated the consultation process with Ronan Lavin, H&MV's Head of Procurement and Management. Ronan worked closely alongside Conor Stakelum, Director of Stakelums, Pat Stakelum, Head of Installations, and Gavin Nicholson, Stakelum office designer for this project. This collaborative effort ensured that the newly designed office space would effectively embody H&MV's values and meet their specific requirements.
The Process
The installation phase spanned over two days, during which Stakelums diligently executed the project. As per the client's special request, Stakelums took responsibility for the removal of the old furniture, ensuring appropriate recycling practices were employed. Adhering to Stakleums commitment to environmental sustainability, Stakelum was proud to emphasize their adherence to ISO standards, guaranteeing that all recycling processes met the highest industry standards with on-site recycling & collaboration with their trusted recycling partners, Thurles Recycling Centre, to ensure the proper disposal and recycling of the furniture.
Once the old furniture was cleared, Stakelums received the green light to proceed with the installation process. Stakelum's installation team successfully completed the installation project for H&MV, encompassing two floors of their office space. The installation included a range of elements such as desks, storage units, seating, meeting rooms, and breakout spaces. The experienced Stakelum install team efficiently executed the main installation phase over three days.
Throughout the installation process, Stakelum's team demonstrated their ability to work effectively alongside other tradesmen who were simultaneously putting the finishing touches on the building. The camaraderie between the Stakelum team and the other tradesmen created a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere on-site. In particular, lively discussions centered around the shared passion for GAA and hurling, serving as the main topic of banter for the duration of the project.
